RIVERSIDE Guitarist PIOTR GRUDZINSKI Died Of Cardiac Arrest

March 7, 2016

Polish progressive rock band RIVERSIDE has released the following statement regarding the passing of their founding member and guitarist Piotr Grudzinski:

"On behalf of the family and our own, we would like to thank everyone for the support and your presence in those difficult moments. Piotr passed away unexpectedly of natural causes (sudden cardiac arrest) on February 21. We have remained with emptiness and open wounds which need time to heal. For obvious reasons, we have decided to cancel all concerts confirmed for this year. At the same time, we would like to inform you that we are going to carry out this year releases scheduled for late spring and autumn 2016."

Grudzinski was 40 years old at the time of his death.

Before the guitarist passed away, RIVERSIDE was preparing for a Polish tour with support acts LION SHEPHERD and SOUNDS LIKE THE END OF THE WORLD. The band was also scheduled to headline this year's RoSFest in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in early May.

Grudzinski attended a show by THE WINERY DOGS in Warsaw the night before he died, according to a tweet by that band's drummer, Mike Portnoy.

RIVERSIDE's latest album, "Love, Fear And The Time Machine", was released last September via InsideOut Music.

The band recently re-entered the studio and arranged a special new version of its next single off "Love, Fear And The Time Machine", a track called "Time Travellers".

A video interview with Piotr Grudzinski, conducted at the end of 2015 by Morow.com, can be seen below.
